Contemporary Singing Lessons in Nashville, Tennessee
Whether you are a complete beginner, an experienced singer, or somewhere in-between: if you're looking for a Nashville vocal coach who can take you to the next level, I can design a vocal lesson path that will work for your individual needs as a singer. I've been coaching singers for over 25 years, and during that time I've worked with thousands of professional and budding singers in all contemporary vocal styles: rock, country, jazz, musical theater, R&B, singer-songwriter, and folk. My teaching method is effective and comprehensive, tailored to work with your style of music. That means, for example, that if you sing gritty blues rock you will not come out of voice lessons sounding like a Broadway singer—or vice versa!
In private sixty minute sessions you'll learn:
- All the essentials: breathing, support, placement, relaxation, projection, pitch dexterity, how to increase your vocal range and volume, diction, how to warm up, and general care and strengthening of your voice.
- All the polish: interpretation, vocal style, phrasing, belting, improvising, tone, runs, performance skills, mic technique.
- All the extras: how to harmonize, studio/performance preparation, how to find or create a band, music theory and sight singing, building a repertoire, songwriting, and goal defining.
Private singing lessons are $60/hour, beginners to pros welcome. Bands or friends wishing to study together are also welcome and may split the cost. Lessons are on the west end of Nashville, Tennessee.
